Nancy R. Davison brings the red and yellow sparkle of beach cottages in the sun or the subdued blue shadows of a lighthouse in moonlight to life in aquatint etchings, linoleum cuts and watercolors. She creates architectural landscapes – cities, beach towns, single buildings, kitchens - in sharp black and white or in subtle color.

Davison learned printmaking from Leonard Baskin at Smith College and set up her own printmaking studio after graduation.
Since 1985 she has shown her work in her own gallery, BlueStocking Studio, in York Beach ME. The gallery specializes in works of art on paper by artists such as etcher Carol T. Lummus and silkscreen artist William Mitchell . The gallery also features handmade pottery by Keith Herchenroether and Bill Campbell.

Davison's passion for printmaking in all forms led to her doctoral dissertation, "E.W. Clay: Political Caricaturist of the Jacksonian Era." She has published several articles on historical American and English prints and lectures on the history of printmaking.
Davison is currently President of the Ogunquit Art Association and the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative. She is listed in Who's Who, Who's Who in American Women and Who's Who in American Art.
